Sopore attack: ‘CRPF involvement in death of civilian is untrue,’ says ADG

ADG Zulfiqar Hasan on Thursday said CRPF's involvement in the death of civilian is untrue. Hasan reiterated that 'the civilian got caught in firing by terrorists' A controversy erupted over the Sopore encounter in Jammu and Kashmir. A family member alleged that his relative was killed in firing by security forces. CRPF clarified that gunfire was coming from a mosque where terrorists were hiding. CRPF said a civilian vehicle was caught in the firing range of terrorists. The vehicle, driven by Bashir Ahmed Khan, was coming from Sopore to Kupwara. The incident also left CRPF head constable Deep Chand Verma dead. Verma's wreath laying ceremony was performed in Humhama.
