Stalin proposes Rahul Gandhi as PM candidate in gathering at Karunanidhi statue unveiling

Sonia Gandhi unveiled late former Tamil Nadu CM M Karunanidhi's statue at the DMK headquarters. Statue was unveiled in presence of DMK chief MK Stalin and a host of opposition party leaders. Rahul Gandhi was also present at the event. During the event, Stalin proposed Rahul Gandhi as the next prime ministerial candidate saying he has got the “ability to defeat the fascist Modi government”. It was the first time senior opposition figures were together at an event after the Congress wrested power in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh in the November-December assembly elections.
