Surgery performed under torchlight in Bihar hospital

In a shocking incident, a surgery was conducted using torchlights in Sadar Hospital In Bihar. A woman met with an accident when she was brought to the hospital for treatment and needed a surgery. The hospital did not have electricity at the time the surgery was performed. The lack of adequate healthcare has been a problem India is facing for a long time. The budget has allocated only 1.15% of the GDP to the health sector. The government claims that it hopes to raise this to 2.25% by 2025.
