‘Told Urmila Matondkar to avoid internal politics’: Sanjay Nirupam
Updated on Mar 01, 2020 05:31 pm IST
Actor-turned-politician Urmila Matondkar resigned from the Congress barely six months after joining the party. She blamed petty in-house politics behind her step down. Congress' Sanjay Nirupam urged Urmila Matondkar to take back her resignation. Matondkar had fought the Lok Sabha election from Mumbai North constituency. She was defeated by BJP's sitting MP, Gopal Shetty by a margin of 4.65 lakh votes. State Assembly elections in Maharashtra are likely to take in October.
