‘Violence doesn’t solve problems’: PM Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Republic Day
Updated on Mar 18, 2020 12:12 pm IST
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation via his 'Mann Ki Baat' programme on the occasion of India's 71st Republic Day. He spoke about the recent surrender of over 600 militants belonging to 8 banned outfits in Assam. The Prime Minister called it a realisation among these militants that violence can't solve any problems. He went on to rhetorically ask his audience whether they knew of any place which had benefited from violence, or one where peace had caused harm. He also said that insurgency has greatly reduced in the North-East.
