Watch: Shaheen Bagh protesters remove barricades for Hindu funeral procession
Updated on Feb 24, 2020 08:15 am IST
The barricades at the Shaheen Bagh protest site in Delhi were removed briefly to allow a Hindu funeral procession to pass. The event transpired on Sunday, a day after a vitriolic campaign for the Assembly polls came to an end. The anti-Citizenship law protests in Shaheen Bagh featured prominently in the campaign, especially in BJP speeches. The party sought votes to remove the protestors from the spot once results are announced on February 11. The demonstrators have camped at the site for almost two months now, seeking revocation of CAA and scrapping of the idea of a pan-India NRC.
