‘Will examine resignations overnight,’ Karnataka Speaker on rebel MLAs
Updated on Feb 25, 2020 02:56 pm IST
Karnataka Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar on Thursday ruled out the decision on resignations of 11 rebel MLAs. “Will think over night to see if resignations were voluntary,” he said. Kumar was speaking to the media after meeting the rebel MLAs in Bengaluru. The Supreme Court had directed the rebel MLAs to meet the Speaker at 6 PM today to submit their resignations. The Congress-JDS government in the state plunged into a crisis following resignations of as many as 14 MLAs. If the 14 resignations are accepted, the ruling coalition would be reduced to a minority.
