The Modi government has trashed global rating agency Moody’s criticism of the Aadhaar system as “baseless” and “without any evidence”. Moody’s alleged that the Aadhaar biometrics is unreliable in a country like India where the weather is hot and humid. “The report in question does not cite either primary or secondary data or research in support of the opinions presented in it. The investor service did not make any attempt to ascertain facts regarding the issues raised by it from the Authority,” the IT Ministry said in a statement.
