2014 General Elections: SP releases first list of candidates

The Samajwadi Party sounded the poll bugle for 2014 general elections today by releasing its first list of candidates. While addressing a news conference in Lucknow, Samajwadi Party General Secretary Ram Gopal Yadav made a formal announcement and declared the names of the candidates. Surprisingly the first list did not name its candidates from Amethi and Rae Bareli, the poll bastions of the Gandhi family and the party tried to dodge repeated queries by media on the subject. So far the list seems to be more of a family affair and sitting lawmakers topped the list.
