2G: 5 corporate honchos get bail
Updated on Nov 23, 2011 01:08 pm IST
The Supreme Court on Wednesday granted bail to the five corporate honchos allegedly involved in the 2G-spectrum scam. Unitech's Sanjay Chandra, DB Realty's Vinod Goenka as well as Reliance Group's Gautam Doshi, Surendra Pipara and Hari Nayar have to furnish a surety bond of Rs 5 lakhs each. They were in jail for seven months. Though the CBI opposed their bail saying that the accused may tamper with the evidence, but the defence lawyers argued that since charges have been framed, their clients deserved bail.
