2G-scam: Maran should resign: Jayalalithaa
Updated on Jun 01, 2011 09:27 pm IST
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Wednesday demanded the resignation of Union Textile Minister Dayanidhi Maran for his alleged role in selectively distributing 2G spectrum licenses to telecom bidders in 2006. According to a report in the Tehelka magazine, Maran deliberately delayed licenses when he was telecom minister in 2006 to benefit Aircel promoters Maxis, which in turn invested over Rs 600 crore in companies owned by the Maran family's Sun Group.
