8 women die after sterilisation surgery in Chhattisgarh's Bilaspur

8 women have died due to medical negligence in a sterilization camp organized by the state government in Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Raman Singh has ordered for investigation and compensation has been announced for the families of the dead. The camp was organized as part of family planning programme. As per the programme, the women undergoing operation get Rs 1400 and the worker who brings the gets Rs 200 for each woman.
