Adarsh Society Scam: Chavan chargesheeted

Former Maharashtra chief minister Ashok Chavan was today charge sheeted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) with criminal conspiracy, cheating and the Prevention of Corruption Act, among 13 other people, in the infamous Adarsh Housing Society Scam. Earlier in the day, the CBI had informed the Bombay High Court that it would be filing a charge sheet later in the day. The 10,000-page charge sheet was filed before the Registrar of a sessions court, nearly 18 months after the CBI registered a case.
