Age row: SC defers hearing till Feb 10, slams govt

The Supreme Court on Friday deferred the hearing of the petition by Army Chief General Vijay Kumar Singh on his date of birth, till February 10, giving the General and the Central Government more time to resolve the deadlock. The Supreme Court also asked the government to explain its stand on the row, further questioning the manner in which General Singh's complaint about his age was rejected by the Defence Ministry in December last year.
