Ajay Maken proposes New Sports Bill

The newly appointed union Sports Minister Ajay Maken announced the proposal of a new sports bill on Tuesday. At press conference held in New Delhi, Maken told mediapersons that the bill is an attempt to inculcate transparency and good governance in sports bodies of the country. The sports minister also asserted that the proposed law will rule out the possibility of corruption, family connections, sexual harassment and abuse of power by federation officials by fixing their tenure and imposing age restrictions, besides, it will involve the athletes and government in decision making.
