Always knew Anna will enter politics: Ambika Soni
Updated on Aug 03, 2012 09:42 pm IST
The proposal of veteran social activist and anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare to float a political party has evoked a mixed response across the country, with Union Information and Broadcasting Minister, Ambika Soni saying that it was always known that Anna would foray into politics eventually. Former Supreme Court Judge N Santosh Hegde said that anybody who was honest and had the required infrastructure to fight corruption could join politics. Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev, however, refused to comment on the matter. Meanwhile, Social Activist Swami Agnivesh sought a public apology from Anna Hazare and his associates for breaking the sanctity of a fast that Mahatma Gandhi used as a weapon during India's freedom struggle.
