Agra is located in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh. The city takes pride in possessing one of the Seven Wonders of the World—The Taj Mahal. The marble masterpiece dates back to 1653. It took 22 years of hard work by around 20,000 skilled labourers from different communities to complete the monument. And this tradition of working together in harmony continues in the marble industry in the city. The end product reflects the amity between the workers. While the Hindus do the modelling work, the Muslim workers beautify it with their inlay skills.
