Anand Satyanand on his maiden visit

Governor General of New Zealand, Anand Satyanand, who is on a week-long visit to India received a ceremonial welcome by the president, Pratibha Patil and Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh at the presidential house in New Delhi on Tuesday. His visit comes after New Zealand dropped its opposition to a United States-India civil nuclear trade deal. He said that his visit is aimed at strengthening the relations between the two countries.
