Updated on Feb 18, 2011 10:57 am IST

No other India cricketer may have seen so many entries and exits from the team as Ashish Nehra has gone through. By his sheer grit and determination Nehra has always staged a come back. Left arm fast bowler Nehra born on April 29, 1979 in Delhi, started his cricketing in 1997-1988. He represented India at the International cricket in the year 1999 and also made his Test debut against Sri Lanka at Colombo in the same year. In his first Test, this 31-year-old dismissed Marvan Atapattu early but then failed to pick up any more wickets. Nehra then struggled with his ankle injury and was continuously dropped from the national team. He got his career-best ODI figures of 6 for 23 against England during the 2003 World Cup in South Africa. His bowling average of 31.56 with 154 ODIs wickets is better than his three main competitors in the fast bowling department which includes the likes of - Irfan Pathan, Zaheer Khan and Ajit Agarkar.
