Assam riots: Gogoi warns of ‘firing at anyone’

As the death toll in the Assam clashes has reached 80 Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has reportedly warned that the administration will open fire at anyone who resorts to arson and violence. Almost 80 people have died in the last one month in ethnic violence in parts of lower Assam between the indigenous Bodo tribals and Muslim settlers. Meanwhile assuring all security and safety, Deputy Chief minister of Karnataka, R. Ashoka called upon people of northeast including students and professionals who had fled Bangalore after rumours of an attack planned against them to return.
