Australia says India committed to NPT

Australian Foreign Minister, Stephen Smith who is in New Delhi on a five day visit said that both India and Australia have 'very good records on non-proliferation'. Smith however added that despite the recent Nuclear Suppliers Group waiver, Australia would not sell uranium to India as it is not pledged to NPT. But he added that Canberra would back India's efforts to become a member of the UN Security Council.
