After struggling for more than 86 hours, the rescuers finally were successful to take Mahi out of the 66-feet borewell, but in the end, it was just not enough, as the 5-year-old is no more, confirmed the Gurgaon district magistrate. Hospital authorities have stated that she was brought dead to hospital. Rescuers had been working meticulously to save Mahi, who had slipped into the 66-feet-deep borewell while playing on her birthday on Wednesday night. Mahi was expected to be pulled out soon after the rescuers were able to successfully carve out a way to reach her, but the chances were blocked by the presence of a rock, which the rescue workers were trying to remove manually.
