BASIC countries meet to discuss climate change

Environment ministers of Brazil, South Africa, India and China (BASIC), met on Sunday in New Delhi to assess the post-Cancun climate change policy and work out strategies for the next climate summit to be held in South Africa. This was the sixth meeting of the top officials from BASIC countries where discussions were held on how to approach the Kyoto Protocol in its second commitment period and action in emission reduction.
