Lowly paid Beedi or traditional cigarette makers of Maharajganj in Uttar Pradesh, strive hard to make their ends meet as the employers pay them way below the minimum daily wages. Beedi is a thin cigarette made of tobacco wrapped in a tendu leaf and held with thread at one end.
