Bellary bypoll: Independent candidate wins; BJP embrassed

Bellary bypolls independent candidate B Sriramulu trampled his political adverseries the BJP and the Congress. Sriramulu won by over 47000 votes margin. The BJP came a poor third, while the Congress came second. It's a huge blow for the ruling BJP in Karnataka and a major setback to former Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa. Rebel candidate and Janardhana Reddy aide B Sriramulu has had a landslide victory in the Bellary bypolls. These bypolls were being seen as a litmus test for mining barons, the Reddy brothers.
