The Trinamool Congress party chief, Mamata Banerjee called for bandh in Bengal on Wednesday, following her visit to the violence-struck Nandigram. She accused the ruling party for not restoring peace in Nandigram and urged people to carry on the strike in a peaceful manner. People had to face a lot of problem, as life in the state came to a virtual standstill. However, the IT sector has been kept out of the purview of the bandh.
