Power equipment major Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has bagged its first order worth Rs 2,108 crore for installing two thermal sets of 525 MW each. Maithon Power (MPL), a joint venture company of Tata Power and Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), has placed the order for the Greenfield power plant on BHEL. This is the first ever order secured by BHEL for the new rating units of 525 MW each.
