BJP's Kataria claims innocence in Sohrabuddin case

Updated on May 15, 2013 05:02 pm IST

BJP leader and Rajasthan's former Home Minister Gulabchand Kataria on Wednesday stated that he would fight for justice, a day after the CBI filed a chargesheet against him in the 2005 Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case. The CBI on Tuesday slapped murder charges on the former minister and three others in Gandhinagar court of Gujarat. Kataria said that he was a victim of a political conspiracy. Meanwhile, BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi also hinted that it could be a case of political conspiracy against Kataria. One of the accused in the supplementary chargesheet is Vimal Patni, who is the director of RK Marble. Kataria is the second high profile politician to be named in the case after Amit Shah, former home minister of Gujarat, who is out on bail.
