BJP seeks Pawar's resignation over sugar crisis

India's main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday sought the resignation of Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, after his remarks on increasing sugar price. Meanwhile, congress, sticking to a safer side, said that the central government has no role in UP government's decision of not allowing the sugar mills to take raw sugar. The Uttar Pradesh government had unofficially disallowed processing of imported raw sugar following a protest by farmers over cane prices in November.
