BJP takes credit for the 1998 nuclear tests

Prakash Javdekar, senior leader and spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party, said that former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee deserves credit for taking the decision to conduct the nuclear tests in 1998. He said this in Mumbai on Thursday, in the wake of differing opinions voiced by scientists and public figures on the success of the tests conducted in Pokhran in Rajasthan in May 1998.
