Blast in Varanasi, Mayawati seeks Centre's help to combat terror elements

The night on Tuesday turned gory for the people of Varanasi when a blast near a crowded bathing ghat rocked the city. Mayawati, the state chief immediately rushed to the site and inspected the area. While talking to the media she condemned the terror act and urged the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, and Home Minister P Chidambaram, to support the state on the similar lines as chalked out in Mumbai Terror attacks case. Mayawati said that she would also ask for extra protection of the sensitive areas of the state to combat such incidents in future.
