The common man has waited long enough to know how the Govt of India's annual budget 2008-09 would affect his life. And here is what the Finance Minister P Chidambaram had in-store for them. In the Income Tax slab the threshold limit of exemption has been increased from Rs 1, 10,000 to Rs 1,50,000. The threshold tax exemption for women has also been increased to Rs 1.8 lakh.
