Cabinet clears lokpal bill
Updated on Jan 31, 2013 09:04 pm IST
The Union Cabinet on Thurdsay approved the draft of the proposed Lokpal Bill with major amendments suggested by the select committee of the Rajya Sabha. The bill is now likely to be tabled in Rajya Sabha in the Budget session of Parliament in February. However, anti-graft activist Anna Hazare rejected the new draft too, saying the bill proposed by the Cabinet is useless as it is unable to eradicate corruption from the country.
