Updated on Jun 18, 2011 08:35 pm IST
Congress on Friday asserted that the role of Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), India's apex auditing body has been misunderstood. Party General Secretary Digvijay Singh said this in the context of Bharatiya Janata Party contending the CAG's revelations have reflected the reduced revenue of central government due to private companies being granted licence to tap natural gas. Congress General Secretary Janardhan Dwivedi also slammed BJP saying it should clear its stance on the Lokpal Bill.
