CBI to probe Bhanwari Devi's disappearance

Rajasthan home minister Shanti Dhariwal on Wednesday said that the CBI would now be probing into the case of the missing dalit nurse Bhanwari Devi. According to local media reports Devi, an Auxiliary Nurse and Midwife (ANM) from Jodhpur was in an illicit relationship with Mahipal Maderna, a cabinet minister in the state government, and has been missing for over 10 days now. A political storm has been triggered in Rajasthan, after Devi's husband Amarchand informed local media of his wife's disappearance and reports of her regular telephonic exchanges with Maderna.
