Commonwealth Games Federation President Michael Fennell, who is on a two-day visit to New Delhi, visited Thyagaraj Sports Complex in New Delhi on Wednesday as part of his inspection visit of all the stadia built for the games. Fennell is to visit all the venues and also inspect allied infrastructure facilities, many of which are still under construction. He will also be briefed by the officials of the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee about the preparations for the event. The arrival of Fennel against the backdrop of a spate of controversies surrounding the Delhi Commonwealth Games is looked upon keenly especially after a few participating nations raised doubts about security issues for the mega event.
