Facing serious allegations of corruption, CWG organizing committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi seems cornered as Congress left it up to him defend the charges against him. Meanwhile, Gopinath Munde, senior leader of BJP said the investigation should be against the top officials, as probing those lower in the hierarchy won't help. In a shocking revelation, a Delhi-based think tank, the Housing and Land Rights Network exposed on Tuesday with the help of answer received to an RTI application that a vast sum of money, meant for the development of the marginalized sections of Indian society was diverted towards the preparations of the Commonwealth Games.
