Chavan orders judicial probe into Adarsh scam

Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chavan on Wednesday announced a judicial probe by a two-member commission into the Adarsh housing society scam, headed by a retired judge of the Supreme Court or High Court. Chavan said that he hopes the commission would be able to bring out the truth and guilty would be punished. When asked about the authority and legal sanctity of the commission, the chief said that formed under the Commission of Inquiries Act, the two-member panel could work as it thinks fit.Keywords:
