Chinese fishing nets on the verge of disappearance

A century old unique fishing technique introduced in the 14th century is fighting for its survival in Kochi. These 'Chinese Fishing Nets' in Kerala are one of a kind in India. It is believed that traders from the court of Chinese ruler Kublai Khan introduced these nets in Cochin. The huge wooden cantilever nets look like spiders on the shores and attract thousands of both domestic and international tourists.
