Chopper Scam: Ex-IAF chief denies charges

Former Air Chief SP Tyagi, who is accused of taking bribe to swing Rs 3,600 crore deal for procuring 12 choppers from Italian firm Finmeccanica to ferry VVIPS, today denied all charges and supported the CBI enquiry into the matter. External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid said that government is in touch with Italy government to get information on the 2010 chopper deal. Meanwhile the opposition slammed the government over the issue saying that the government was doing a cover up. The arrest of Italian company chief in Milan prompted the government in India to order a CBI probe.
