To supplement the increased demand for coal in the country, Ministry of Coal has come up with a proposal to provide financial assistance to the Indian Railways in procuring rakes for speedy transhipment of coal across the nation. Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal said this while addressing a news conference in New Delhi on Tuesday. He said this would facilitate timely catering of the vital source of energy to various sectors. On this score, he noted that the overall dispatch of coal to various sectors in April 2011 had witnessed a growth of about 12.8 percent as compared to the same period the previous year.
