Coal scam: Anil Bastawade sent to judicial custody

Former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda's close associate Anil Bastawade has been sent to 14 days' judicial custody by a special court in a multi-crore mining scam. He will be lodged in the Birsa Munda Jail. Talking to the media persons, Enforcement Directorate lawyer SR Das said that Bastawade has been sent to judicial custody for further interrogation till February 11. Bastawade was brought back from Jakarta, late on Tuesday night. Bastawade is an accused in a money laundering scam. The CBI alleges that he siphoned off over Rs 250 crore from the Madhu Koda government to pay for coal mine contracts.
