The Congress has demanded probe into the alleged purchase of tea garden land in Himachal Pradesh by IAC leader and social activist Arvind Kejriwal's close aide, Prashant Bhushan. Speaking to reporters today in New Delhi, Union Minister of state for Parliamentary Affairs, Rajiv Shukla said that the land allotted to Bhushan's family was given at cheap prices. Reacting to Shukla's allegations, Prashant Bhushan's father and social activist Shanti Bhushan said that his family had committed no wrongdoing and the government was free to probe the matter. Bhushan's Kumud Bhushan Educational Society was given permission to buy 4.68 hectares of land in Palampur area of the state for the construction of an educational institution.
