Cong to move HC over FIR against Rahul Gandhi
Updated on Feb 24, 2012 02:02 pm IST
Defending Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi over the FIR lodged against him for violating the model code of conduct, the party on Tuesday alleged that the complaint was filed at the behest of UP chief minister Mayawati. Addressing mediapersons on Tuesday in Kanpur, Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh said that the party would move the high court seeking quashing of the FIR. Union HRD and telecom minister Kapil Sibal also strongly defended Rahul Gandhi saying that the administration had earlier permitted him for the road-show but later withdrew the permission at the eleventh hour.
