CPI (M), BJP opposes amended lokpal bill

Senior CPI-M leader, Brinda Karat has opposed the amended lokpal bill after the Union cabinet approved its draft with amendments. Karat while addressing a news conference in Patna slammed the government for keeping the CBI partially under the Lokpal Bill. Echoing similar views, BJP spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi called for an effective Lokpal Bill to root out corruption from the country.
