Cyclone Nilam: 25 dead, 80,000 evacuated in Andhra Pradesh

At least 25 people have died in the devastating floods and 80,000 have been evacuated to government shelters in coastal Andhra Pradesh as heavy rains continued to hit the region in the after effect of the Cyclone Nilam. Vishakapatnam, Prakasam, East Godavari and Viziana-garam have received close to 25 cm of rainfall since Saturday. Around 80,000 people had been evacuated to government shelters. Crops spread over 2.5 lakh hectares of farmland were under water and schools remained shut.
