Devotees in Maharashtra gathered on the beaches for the farewell ritual of lord Ganesha on the sixth day of Ganesh Chaturthi, by immersing the idols of lord Ganesha and Goddess Gauri in water. Although, the celebrations last for ten days for most of the devotees, many say good-bye to their beloved God after the fifth day itself. Devotees carried out processions of the idol of Ganesha amidst beating of drums and bid adieu to the God.
