Digvijay Singh calls for leniency for Sanjay Dutt
Updated on Mar 24, 2013 05:48 pm IST
Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Sunday urged the governor of Maharashtra to pardon the five year sentence given to Bollywood actor, Sanjay Dutt for possession of illegal arms. Speaking to mediapersons in New Delhi, Singh said that Dutt had only kept the weapons to defend his family and should be pardoned for making an immature decision. However, the BJP condemned Digvijay Singh's stance and accused him of always taking a soft stance on people associated with militants.
