DMK agrees to give 63 seats to Congress

It was an end to the suspenseful stalemate in United Progressive Alliance as the Congress party announced reconciliation with DMK on Tuesday. DMK, which is the ruling party in Tamil Nadu, ended the crisis by agreeing to give 63 seats to Congress party in the ensuing polls to the provincial legislature. Further, Karunanidhi stated that by contesting only 121 seats in the state assembly DMK is showing its respect for its alliance partners.
