DMK to support Congress candidate in prez polls

As the race for presidential election is gaining momentum, Senior DMK leader MK Stalin after meeting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, today said that the DMK would support the candidate nominated by the Congress. The five-year term of current President Pratibha Devisingh Patil, who sworn-in as the 12th President of India on July 25, 2007, is nearing its end. However, the dilemma over the nomination of president continues with political parties remaining divided over a suitable candidate's name and arriving at consensus.
